JETRO Philippine IT Industry Update Report for Japanese Readers

Since August 2004, SpiceWorx has been working hand in hand with
JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization) in publishing periodic reports on Philippines' IT and IT enabled services industry targeting Japanese readers to raise awareness among them about Philippines as an offshore outsourcing destination. Reports are available from JETRO websites in Japanese and English.

In June 2008, case studies of offshore software developments by Japanese companies in the Philippines that were featured in the past reports (August 2004 to March 2008) were separately compiled and publised by JETRO.

IT Human Resource Needs Survey for JICA/UP-ITTC

SpiceWorx has successfully completed a survey on IT Human Resource Needs for  JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency)  and University of the Philippines IT Training Center (UP-ITTC) . The survey was composed on both online questionnaire and face to face interview. Online questionnaire during November 16 to December 17, 2007 gathered responses from 66 IT service companies (mostly software development) and face to face interviews were conducted with 49 of them during November 27, 2007 to January 21, 2008. The survey result is expected to contribute to updating and
upgrading UP-ITTC's training curriculum and workshop contents to align them with the latest industry needs.

IT Human Resource Training Needs Study for CICC

Appointed by  Center of the International Cooperation for Computerization (CICC) of Japan, SpiceWorx conducted a study on professional IT Human Resource Training needs in the Philippines.  SpiceWorx designed the survey questionnaire, conducted survey among Philippine based software companies, compiled the survey result and delivered analysis report to CICC. Findings from the survey will be used as valuable inputs to the formulation of CICC's future plans on IT Human Resource development assistance (particularly training) for Asia. Questionnaire designed by SpiceWorx was used in the similar surveys in other countries in Asia.

 
PhilNITS Assessment & Recommendation for Future Expansion
Appointed by the Information Technology Promotion Agency (IPA) of Japan, SpiceWorx conducted an assessment study on the implementation of Philippine National IT Standard (PhilNITS, formerly JITSE). The three months project of 12 project members successfully delivered the assessment of five years implementation of PhilNITS and recommendations for both Japan and the Philippines on what should be done for the future expansion of this certification program.

SpiceWorx Consultancy successfully delivered "Report of Philippine Software Industry Association (PSIA) Quick Survey on Software Services Export for Japanese Market" to Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO). The key findings of the survey will be reported at e-Services Philippines 2010 on February 2010, during the PSIA/JETRO special session with Japanese delegation at SMX Convention Center, Pasay City, Philippines. The report (in Japanese) will be made available for download from PSIA Japanese website after the eServices Philippines 2010.
