SpiceWorx designed an in-house skill development training program for a software development service company in the Philippines targeting offshore and onsite software development for Japan market. Their in-house training program covers both 5 month intensive pre-employment training for new graduates and continuous skill development program for intermediate software engineers of the company.

SpiceWorx designed the program to address the most pressing needs of the client which are:

  • Capability to conduct upper stream works of software development life cycle such as requirement analysis and software/system design
  • Project Management Capability
  • Japanese Language Proficiency
  • Alignment of the in-house training program with IT Skill Standard (ITSS) defined by Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) of Japan.

SpiceWorx delivered the following services in developing continuous skill development program for intermediate software engineers.

  • Analyzed ITSS and identified which part is relevant to the client’s business and needs to be addressed in the in-house skill development program
  • Translated ITSS (originally in Japanese) into English and presented its concept and structure to all managers and key employees of the company
  • Proposed how ITSS should be incorporated in the in-house skill development program
  • Designed the entire structure of training program in alignment with ITSS
  • Conducted screening evaluation and selection of external training service partner
  • Reviewed external training service partner’s training contents and materials
  • Coordinated and negotiated with the external training partner for the customization of training contents and materials
  • Provided various consultation and advisory suggestions during the preparation and deployment phases of the training program
