12 Month Strategic Planning and Implementation Program

SpiceWorx facilitated a 12 month program on strategic planning and implementation for a software development service company with about 100 employees. Participants of the program were 10 middle to senior managers with software engineering background and virtually no formal training/education on strategic management in the past.

The 12 month program on strategic planning and implementation was conducted following a model as shown in the diagram below.

• The management team formulated mid-term strategy and then translated it into actionable measures by using Balanced Scorecard. And actual actions started in each business unit.
• SpiceWorx conducted an assessment of the Client’s strategic planning and identified strengths and weaknesses. Weaknesses were in the lack of attention and knowledge about external environment and initiatives to address this weakness have been started.
• The management team gained greater exposure to the information about competitors and deepened the understanding about them.
• The management team members have improved the information handling and reporting.

Even after the 12 month program, SpiceWorx is being retained as their corporate planning consultant and continuously supporting various activities of their business planning and management.
